I Have A New Car

I now have a new car, well it is a 2006 but it is new to me and it is so clean inside that it looks brand new.  Gilbert came by about eleven to get information that the car salesman needed such as Social Security number, Driver’s License number, address, and birthday. About noon the salesman called to make sure that he had all the information listed correctly.  About thirty minutes later he called to say he was on the way with my car and within the hour I was the legal owner of a 2006, Chevrolet Aveo.

I drove to Jonesboro to get the insurance changed from the Toyota to the Chevrolet.  Then I went to Office of Motor Vehicles to check about the handicapped tag.  The guy told me to see if the paper work was still at the OMV in Ruston and have them change it.  Ruston OMV did not have the paperwork so I then went to the dealership and explained the situation to the salesman.  He contacted someone and they faxed him a form that I now have to take to a doctor and get signed saying that I need a handicapped tag.  I had to get a doctor’s signature when I got the handicapped hangtag but I cannot remember which of the two doctors signed the form.  Guess it really does not matter.  I think it was the orthopedic doctor so think I will try him first.  After all he knows the most about my knees and they are the reason that I need a handicapped tag.

I was going to get the signature this afternoon but neither doctor was in his office so will have to drive to Green Clinic tomorrow morning for the signature.  After I had called and learned I could not get the signature this afternoon I realized that I was very hungry so I drove to my favorite pizza place and had a pizza.  It was no wonder that I was hungry for it was about three thirty and I had not had one bite of food all day.  After eating I came home and read emails for I was too tired to work on the quilt.

Since tonight was business meeting at church I planned to go in after the meeting since they would be voting on whether to buy the car for me.  When I got to church I saw one of the guys who cut my yard yesterday and I walked over to thank him.  The pastor was standing there and he suggested that I go upstairs and wait until the business meeting was over.  I laughed and told him that I had already planned to do that.  All the members that were there agreed to buy the car and I am now the owner of a silver colored 2006 Chevrolet Aveo.  After church several people asked me how I liked the car and several also went outside to look it over.  It was a great feeling to know that my church family loved me enough to buy me a car for I definitely needed a different one.

When I got home from church, I pinned twelve strips together and they are now ready to sew.  I did not want to start sewing tonight so I cut some of the strips for the table runner that I will be making as soon as I finish the quilt.  I am very sleepy so I am going to bed and hopefully can get up early and get to Ruston to get the doctor’s signature and deliver it to the dealership and then home to get to sewing.  Hope to get some quilting done also.  I would love to have the quilt finished by Saturday night.
