Definitely Not A Good Day
When I got up this morning the DSL was not working and I called Brian to have him walk me though the needed steps to get it working again. However this time it did not come back on. I told him that he could just fix it when he came home from work. I finally decided to call technical support and was told that there was an outage in my area and service would be back at 10:36 A.M Saturday morning. I laughed and asked if they could be so specific with the time.
I went to Wal-Mart this afternoon to pay for the extra yard of fabric that I was not charged for yesterday. Of course there were no motorized carts so I walked to the service desk and the young man there told me that I would have to go back to the fabric department and have them measure the fabric and give me a new ticket. Since the fabric department is in the back of the store and on the other side I could not walk back there without a great deal of pain. I was a little miffed and told the guy that it seemed to me he could just take my money for a yard of fabric. I left and decided to drive to the east door and check on carts. As I expected, there were no carts there either so I just walked back to my car and drove to the gas station at the edge of Wal-Mart’s parking lot to fill my gas tank. More frustration for every bay had two or three car either filling the tank or waiting. I just left and drove to the library.
I am now at the library using their computer and waiting for time to pass so that I can go back to Wal-Mart and try to get gas again. Should not be that crowded at six o’clock. I am also going to try again to pay for the extra fabric. I am an honest person and it gripes me when people make it so hard to do what I know should be done.
On my second trip to Wal-Mart I was able to pull right into an empty space at the gas station and then when I went inside Wal-Mart there were actually three carts available. I hopped on one and headed straight for the fabric department. The lady gave me a ticket listing what the price should have been and then she made a ticket just for the extra yard of fabric. She and I both thought it would be better to give the service desk person the ticket for one yard. Good thing too for when I handed it to the lady she looked at me with a blank look and asked if I wanted to pay for it. I then told her that I had gotten fabric yesterday but they had given me a yard more than I was charged and the ticket I handed her was for the extra yard. She looked confused but rang up the price, took my money, and gave me a receipt. If I buy fabric again I will make sure the amount is correct before I leave the fabric department.
With the extra fabric finally paid for I went to my car and backed out of the parking space. Before I could change gears and drive forward a BIG SUV backed into me and smashed the right front light cover. The young girl that hit me kept apologizing over and over. I wrote down her insurance information and gave her my information and then I had to tell her what to do for she had never had to deal with an insurance company before. Since it was late evening, I told her she would probably have to wait until Monday to contact her insurance agent.
This was not a good day and I am glad that it is now time to go to bed and listen to a really good book on tape until I fall asleep. I did not even have the fun of being on the computer for it will not be on until tomorrow morning.
