Not A Good Day To Fabric Shop
I went to Monroe today and while there I went to Hancock’s and Hobby Lobby but neither had any fabric with airplanes. Well Hobby Lobby did have one with Air Force planes and the AF logo but I did not think that fighter planes were appropriate for a baby quilt.
Stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home and to my surprise and delight, they had fabric with several different airplanes on it. I bought enough of the airplane fabric to make a quilt and then I bought all on the bolt of another juvenile fabric that has several different machines on it which will also be used for baby boy quilts. The lady printed out the price ticket and attached it to the fabric. As I was leaving I saw a floral print that I could not resist so I bought a yard of it and the lady pinned another ticket on the floral fabric.
When I got to the checkout register, the girl scanned the one yard piece of fabric that was less than five dollars and started putting all the fabric into a bag. I told her that there was another ticket for the other two pieces of fabric and that price was almost thirty-three dollars. I still did not think that the price was correct for when the lady measured the largest piece of fabric, she said there was 5.875 yards and I had counted six plus but I thought maybe that I had miscounted.
When I got home I measured the fabric and there was an even seven yards so I had been correct in my counting. There is always an extra inch or so but this lady measured closer than some for there was only four and a half extra inches in over six yard. Now I must make a trip to Wal-Mart tomorrow to get this straightened out and pay for the extra yard.
