Good Samaritan
I spent the afternoon in the library in Ruston and was on my way home a few minutes after six and the car was shimming and I just thought that it was the tires out of alignment. Then I heard a noise that no one wants to hear. I had a flat. I pulled almost off the shoulder onto the dirt for the cars were flying by at sixty-five miles an hour or faster. I called Brian and asked him to come change the tire for me. I can change a tire but since hurting my shoulder a couple of years ago, I cannot get the lug nuts loose without a lot of pain. I had just closed my cell phone and opened my book to read while I waited for Brian and at that moment a pickup pulled off the road ahead of me. I was quite surprised to see my Sunday school teacher and one of his sons walking back toward my car. I opened the trunk of the car and one grabbed the tire and another got the jack. Working together, Joey and his son Brian had the tire changed very quickly. As soon as I knew who had stopped, I called Brian and told him that he did not need to come. Makes one feel good to know that there are still helpful people in the world.
