How sad for him, but what a wonderful guy he is! It is such a risk to take in stray litters. We have seen both a litter of pups and a litter of kittens die due to disease. The vet said they have a hard time of it because their parents aren't vaccinated or well fed and the mother's milk doesn't protect them as well. He is a good man for having taken the brood in.
