It Never Fails
Everything was going along just fine and I would have finished the three quilts by bedtime tonight but the foot control for my sewing machine started acting up. When I press down to sew fast it stops completely so I have to sew at a slow to medium speed. And then sometimes when I stop at the end of a seam, the machine keeps sewing very slowly for a few stitches. It has done this before so I am hoping that tomorrow when I get ready to sew that it will work correctly. If it is still giving me a problem then I will take to the repairman to see what can be done. However, if just checking the foot control will cost me the same as servicing the sewing machine, which is seventy five dollars, then I will just live with the problem.
Deanna, I just read about this on the net somewhere. Sorry I can remember the site, but they said that you can take the cover off of the pedal and clean it out. That often there gets a build up of thread and lint, etc, that messes the pedal up. I’ll see if I can find the article, but if you try that first, it might save you going to the repairman at all.
