Hooray!!! I Can Get DSL
When I got out of Bible study yesterday I had a voice message on my cell phone. It was from Brian telling me that DSL is now available in our neighborhood. We are both excited about that for not only is DSL faster than satellite but it will cost about half as much. And I don’t think that we would lose our Internet connection every time it rains as we do now with satellite.
Yesterday afternoon I checked with the satellite company up in Ruston to see if my contract was up. I was surprised to learn that I have had satellite since October 2006 so there is no problem with a contract. The lady even said that since it has been that long the company might not even want the dish back. I told her if they wanted it they would have to come get it for I am not climbing a ladder to get it. Brian is not fond of climbing high ladders either. Besides, we do not have a ladder that would reach up to the roof. I am hoping that they don’t want it and then will not have to get someone to remove it if the company will not come and take it.
All we have to do now is to locate the phone jacks in the house and decide where we want the DSL installed. Maybe by next week we can say goodbye to satellite.
