I Made A Promise

January 31st, 2010

Today I made a promise to myself that I am going to make at least one quilt for missions each day, starting tomorrow which is February first.  I have decided to make as many as I can as whole cloth quilts to save time and thereby get more quilts made.    After I make the one [...]

Winter Weather Is Back

January 30th, 2010

We were having such nice, warm weather for January and then yesterday when I went outside it was COLD.  Still cold today and the forecast for the next few days is still chilly but at least in the mid fifties.

Rainy Day

January 29th, 2010

Was raining when I went to bed at two this morning and I think it rained all night.  It continued to rain until early afternoon and then it was a drizzle the rest of the day.  My yard had several pools of water which always happens when we have a really heavy rain.

Movie Night

January 28th, 2010

Had to return a stack of books and tapes to the library today so I decided since I was there that I would get some reading and studying done.  As I was leaving a few minutes before six, I thought I smelled popcorn.  I asked one of the librarians if I truly did smell popcorn [...]

Hooray!!! I Can Get DSL

January 27th, 2010

When I got out of Bible study yesterday I had a voice message on my cell phone.  It was from Brian telling me that DSL is now available in our neighborhood.  We are both excited about that for not only is DSL faster than satellite but it will cost about half as much.  And I [...]

This morning at Bible study we had some interesting, informative, and lively discussions.  I think that this is going to be the best study we have had so far.  We had a great group too, seventeen ladies with two of our regular members unable to attend.
We had planned to go to the Pea Patch Restaurant [...]

A Good Day

January 25th, 2010

Started the week off right for I was out of bed today before noon and had a good day.  Did not hurt that it was a gorgeous, sunny day with the temperature in the low sixties.
I am doing the challenge of reading the entire Bible in ninety days and had gotten a couple of days [...]

Good Start For The Week

January 24th, 2010

I hope that the rest of the week will be as great as today.  It was a beautiful, sunny day and the temperature was in the high sixties.  An entire week of days like today would be absolutely perfect. According to the weather forecast, it will be in the sixties until Friday when it will [...]

Life Is A Quilt

January 23rd, 2010

I liken my life’s journey to that of creating a patchwork quilt.  Carefully and lovingly, I choose the fabric of my being.  As I gather the pieces, I shall sort them and put each in its proper place.  None resembling that of another, yet common enough to become a whole.
Only with the finest threads, my [...]

Where Did The Week Go?

January 22nd, 2010

The way time flies I will be eighty years old before I have gotten used to the idea of being seventy-one.  Maybe if I would get busy doing all the quilting that I need to do then time would not seem to go by so fast.  At least I would have something to show for [...]
