Happy New Year, 2010
In an hour and twenty minutes it will be 2010 here in Louisiana. Brian and I will be watching the ball drop in New York at eleven o’clock our time. Then I may just go to bed for at least it will be the new year in part of the USA.
I do not make resolutions for I never keep them but I have promised myself that this will be the year that I lose the weight I need to lose and I am going to see how many quilts I can get made for missions. I guess I am actually making resolutions but I prefer to call them promises to myself. Whatever helps.
This year when I filled the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child I made another promise to myself. I filled four boxes this year but I decided that for Christmas 2010 I would fill twelve boxes. I am going to do this by buying one or two items each month and that way I will spread the cost over the entire year. Yesterday I went to Dollar Tree and picked up twelve packages of small notebooks and twelve rulers. I saw the plastic shoeboxes at Dollar Tree for a dollar each but decided to wait until later to buy them. Then later when I was at Wal-Mart I saw that they had a package of six shoeboxes for five dollars. So, I went ahead and bought two packages of boxes for could not beat the price. I just hope that I can find tee shirts on sale again for one dollar.
