Quilt Finished And Delivered

I worked on the quilt until five o’clock this morning and when I went to bed I only had about three hours of work left to do.  I would have stayed up longer and finished the quilt but my shoulders and neck were really hurting and I knew I had to stop and get some rest. Of course I slept very late and I got back to work on the quilt about two this afternoon.  At five I was all finished and folded it to take to Regina at church tonight.  Johnette was holding the quilt for me to take pictures when Regina walked into church.  She was delighted with the quilt and very happy with the way it turned out.  I am so happy to have it finished and in her hands ready to deliver to Trisha.     She gives the quilt to Trisha on Friday so I am going to call her Friday night to see what Trisha had to say.  Regina handed me a card and told me not to open it until I got home for it was not a Christmas card.  The first thing I did when I got home was open the card and inside she had written the sweetest note that made me feel great and to make it even better there was a crisp, new one hundred dollar bill.  I could not believe what I was seeing.  It is certainly welcome and will be put to good use this holiday season.

Trisha's Quilt 001

The front of the quilt which has squares from every shirt.  I cannot abide plaids that are not cut straight and sewn straight so I chose to cut all squares on the bias.  Some of the fabrics were not woven straight so it would have been impossible to get them straight.  Besides it was quicker and easier to go bias.  And I always go for easy.

I called this the back only because I just used the left over squares and had to add six in red and blue to have enough.  Even as hard as I worked to separate blocks, I still ended up with two sets of two right together.  I decided that it did not matter enough to move them.  And it is certain that the baby receiving the quilt will not care.
