Six Hours To Fort Worth
I was up this morning at nine thirty and was driving out of my driveway at ten. I had to stop at Wal-Mart in Ruston to get a couple of snacks and to fill my gas tank. I was shocked to see that the clock on the dashboard said five minutes until eleven as I was leaving Wal-Mart. After I left Ruston I only made two more stops before I reached the Taco Bell near Scott’s apartment. Even though I did not have to stop to eat or for gas, it was six hour from the time I pulled out of my driveway until I stopped at Taco Bell to meet Scott. I called him to let him know that I was here but had to leave a message since he was still at graduation rehearsal. He called me back in about twenty and asked me to meet him at a bookstore about two blocks away. I took off and met him and then we cam to the apartment and like a good son he brought all my luggage up the flight of stairs. It was all I could do to get myself up the stairs.
We had dinner at a great little Italian restaurant just a couple of block away and when we got back to the apartment I had the fun of pressing his graduation gown and master’s hood. The gown was not all that hard to press but the hood was a royal pain. It has velvet along the edge and I never could get one wrinkle out of it but I think it is the part that will be turned under anyway so not going to worry about it.
Scott has to be at the church for graduation about eight forty-five and the original plan was for me to come to the church closer to ten when graduation starts. We were talking this afternoon and I told him that I would rather go early with him so that I would not have to worry about getting to the church without getting lost and then finding a parking place. As it turns out he was thinking the same thing. So, I have to be up tomorrow morning about seven thirty so early to bed tonight.
