Busy Saturday
For some reason I seem to get more household chores done on Saturday than on any other day. Today I cleaned the kitchen and did two loads of laundry. These days with the pain in my knees, I cannot do a lot at one time so have to spread the work out over the day. At least that gives me time to be on the computer or to sit and make quilts. I have finally learned to sit and do the pressing of fabric but I still have to stand to use the rotary cutter. That is why it takes me quite a while to cut blocks for a quilt.
Yesterday as I was going into the Jackson Parish Library I saw a topiary holly tree that had a lot of red berries. I thought it was so pretty that I grabbed my cell phone and took a picture.
My friend planted two holly trees near my front porch but one of them died so I will probably never have any berries. I think I am right that one needs two trees and one should be female and the other male to get berries. Since I know almost nothing about botany, I have no idea if that is true or not. Anyway my holly bush has no berries.
