Can’t Believe I Spent Time Shopping And Enjoyed It

Friday night I was so engrossed in working on the quilt for Bryce and Brody that it was nearly one in the morning when I thought about my blog.  I doubt that anyone other than me cares that I missed a day of posting.

This afternoon Brian and I went to Fox’s Pizza for a late lunch or early supper and whatever it was it was my first meal of the day.  When we left the restaurant it was four o’clock so I decided not to go to the library since they close at six on Saturday.  I had to go to Wal-Mart to pick up a few food items that Brian and I needed and since I was in the grocery section I decided to get snacks and drinks for my day at the voting polls next Saturday.  This year I am not going to be caught without enough food and drink.  Since Scott has both my coolers in Fort Worth I looked around for a cooler and ended up getting one that in on wheels.  It cost more than I wanted to spend but at least it will be easier on my aching shoulders.  Best of all it is fairly large and will hold a lot of munchies.

As I was driving out of the Wal-Mart parking lot I noticed The Dollar Tree so I made a stop there and came out with two bags of little items to put in the four Christmas shoeboxes that I am filling for kids in foreign countries.  If you are looking for something to do for kids other than your own kids or grandkids, I highly recommend Operation Christmas Child.

When I left Ruston I drove home to put things into the refrigerator and then since I was in a shopping mood I drove to Jonesboro and stopped at Fred’s.   There I picked up two more items, actually eight for I got four of each, for the shoeboxes.  Then of course I had to go on to the Jonesboro Wal-Mart.   The store is being remodeled and everything is out of place and I could not find anything for the shoeboxes so I left and came home.  I could not believe that I had been shopping for nearly four hours since I really hate to shop.  But shopping for things for the shoeboxes made me feel good so I did not really look on it as shopping but helping someone less fortunate than my kids and me.
