Computer Problems
Brian did not know where his microphone was so today I went to Wal-Mart and bought the headset type. When I got online and opened Skype I had an instant from Scott saying that he would call this afternoon if I had a microphone. Right below that was a message that I had missed a call from Scott.
I opened the package and followed the directions to connect the headset to the computer. I had to get down on my knees to get to the back of the computer and the place to plug in the microphone. Sad to say, I thought I was not going to be able to get up. Finally got up and came back around to the computer and the microphone would not work. I went back to the plugs and switched them just in case. With that a high beep started going off so I made sure that all the plugs were in tight. Tried the microphone again and it still would not work. When I touched the plugs the third time the computer went completely dead. I could not get it to boot at all.
Since I could not get Scott on Skype I called on the cell phone and he told me what the problem might be. Soon after we finished talking, Brian came home so I asked him to check. He went behind the computer and within a minute or two the computer was working again. I asked him what he did and he said he turned off a switch, unplugged the power cord, plugged it back up, and flipped the switch again. Needless to say I was one happy mom and so glad that I have a computer guru living with me.
I then checked my microphone again and to my surprise it was working correctly. I called Scott but he was not on the computer I guess for it would not connect. Will try again tomorrow. Now I can talk with friends in other countries since I have Skype.
