Almost Finished
Did not go to Bible study today for it was on marriage and since I have been widowed for eighteen years I did not see how it would be of any benefit to me. I was planning to go to the luncheon that Jo was having for the group after the study but I did not make that either. When I got up at ten thirty to get ready, I felt so yucky that I just went back to bed and did not wake up until a few minutes after noon. Then I had to grocery shop and pick up my prescriptions at the pharmacy and by the time I finally got back home it was time to make the meat loaf that was supposed to be refrigerated for at least three hours. Needless to say it was night before I finally got back to the quilt.
I almost goofed in cutting the panels for the back. I needed them to be forty-two inches wide and in my hurry I assumed the fabric was at least forty-four inches wide. I trimmed off a nice wide selvage and then when I measured I only had one-eighth of an inch to trim from the other side. That was cutting it rather close.
Fortunately, I have until tomorrow night to get the quilt finished for mother and baby are not leaving until early Thursday morning. I hope to get it to her before church tomorrow night. I have decided that since I am not sleepy, I am going to stay up until the quilt is finished or all I have left to do is the decorative stitching around the edge. And with that said I am off to finish a quilt.
