Long Fingernails
Today I was tying strings on the quilt and was having a terrible time because of the long fingernail on my left thumb. I was also having trouble picking up pins. So, I have given my nails a trim and now they are at a more workable length. I have often wondered how the ladies with the very long fingernails do anything. I have watched them type using the end of the fingernail but I cannot see how they would be able to tie a knot in a sewing thread. I doubt that any one with extremely long fingernails does any kind of craft. I just can’t see how they would be able to hold small items or do detailed work. I need the touch on the tips of my fingers for lot of things I do in sewing or any other craft. Very seldom do I have slightly long nails but I had not been doing any sewing so I had just let them grow. I bit my fingernails as short as they would go until I went to college and then I stopped; however, I can’t remember what made me stop biting my fingernails.
I have been posting every day and then last night I could not post because we had a thunderstorm and the satellite was out. Brian thinks that we have a problem with the router rather than the satellite dish. Hope he will do something about it if that is the problem. He did mention buying a new router. While he was checking the router he was also checking my external hard drive and told me that the plug was broken. I know that it goes off sometimes but if I flip the switch then it comes right back on so at least the plug still works. I have been thinking about buying another hard drive but as long as this one will work I will save my money.
