News From Cambodia

All the photos are cropped and resized and now I just have to post them to the website along with a description.  The descriptions are what take me so long but I have decided that I am going to shorten them.  I wonder if people even read the description for a book anyway.  I know when I have looked for a book online I usually am just reading titles and price.  Of course if anyone has a question about a book they can always send me an email and I will give them more information.

This morning when I got up and checked the Cambodia site I found that Scott had finally posted again.  They were back from Kampong Svay and it seemed to have been a successful trip.  He said they made good progress on the water collection tanks, told the kids Bible stores, and they met a teacher that they believe will be a person of peace in that village.  Then he said that he had fun on Monday.  He was being facetious for he then said he apparently got dehydrated and had to go back to Kean Svay to get antibiotics and fluids.  I am a little surprised for when he was home the week before he left for Cambodia, it seemed that just about every time I saw him he had a bottle or glass of water in his hand.  He probably was so busy that he forgot to stop and drink water.  Fortunately he recovered quickly for he was back out working on Tuesday morning.

Scott had also posted a new group of pictures.  Unfortunately, for me that is, he is the one making the photos so there are very few photos of him.

funny tree

Ta Prohm.    I am learning a few things because of Scott’s trip to Cambodia.  I did not know if Ta Prohm was a town or the building so I did a search on Google.  Ta Prohm is a temple that dates back to the twelfth century and is one of the most popular temples with visitors to Cambodia.

kung fu

Scott said they were inspired by Tomb Raider which was filmed at Ta Prohm.  I think this is a neat photo even though Scott is not in it.  I must have him tell me how he gets such a good action shot.  Of course his camera is several years newer than mine.

elephant ride

Scott, far right, has a smile on his face but I have a feeling it was not that real.  Like his Mom and Dad, he does not like heights.  But how could he pass up a ride on an elephant?  I don’t think that seat looks all that safe for it seems there is only one rope tied around the elephant holding the seat in place.  I bet they sat as still as as statues.
