Start Of A New Week
It is the beginning of a new week and I WILL get started on Buster’s quilt tomorrow. I have promised Ashley that it will be finished for their anniversary and I am going to keep my promise. It has been so long since I worked on the quilt that I have forgotten just how much I have done. I think all the cutting is finished and the tee shirt squares are ready to be fused onto the background fabric. Then the most time consuming part will be doing a narrow satin stitch around each tee shirt square. When that is finished I will feel as if I am nearly finished but of course I will still have to do the quilting and then put it together and bind.
If I will stick with it, I should have the quilt finished by this time next week. But as we all know, any job usually takes three times as long as one plans. Years ago when I worked at the Smithsonian, my boss said that her mother always told her to figure up how long a job would take and then multiply by three. Over the years I have found that formula to be extremely accurate.
