Happy Memorial Day, 2009
Well you know what happens to the best-laid plans of mice and men? That happened to my plans for the day. Got out of bed much later than I intended but I did make homemade waffles for breakfast. The waffle iron was not getting as hot as it should have and I thought I was going to have to stop and go buy a new waffle iron. I kept turning the temperature knob and finally it started working correctly. While we were eating Brian and I decided that the waffle maker was at least twenty years old for he said he definitely remembers it from his childhood.
No work done on my studio but I did get three loads of laundry done and put away. I was going to prepare dinner tonight but the nearer it got to dinnertime the less I wanted to cook. Brian went to Dominoes and got pizza for us. I finally had pizza without the tomato sauce. I just do not care for that anymore on any kind of food.
After dinner Brian came and asked me if I would like to play cards for a while. We started off playing Gin Rummy and set one hundred points as the end of the game. After only three hands I had beaten him hands down. The last round he got caught with sixty-one points in his hand. Then we played poker for a while and I won two or three hands but in the end he ended up with all the chips.
