Fun Day
I had just gotten up this morning when Brian asked if I wanted to cook breakfast. Of course my first thought was no and then I asked what he wanted. He said he did not care to just cook something and he would eat it. I had taken eggs and bacon out of the refrigerator when he came into the kitchen and asked if I had plans for today. I told him no and asked why. He then asked if I would like to go to Shoney’s for their breakfast buffet. Without a moment of hesitation I told him yes. What is so funny is that about thirty minutes earlier I had thought about going to Shoney’s.
When we got to Shoney’s in West Monroe I proceeded to make a pig of myself. As I told him I like to go mainly for the bacon for I can eat all I want and someone else has had to do the cooking. I always get the same thing, scrambled eggs, grits, bacon, and tomatoes. Today I even had a small second helping. For dessert I was very good and had honeydew and cantaloupe. After all that bacon I don’t think it would have mattered if I had eaten a hot fudge sundae.
After we left Shoney’s, Brian had to return an item at the mall and then we ended up at the Monroe library for a while. When we finally got back to Ruston we stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up things we needed for the waffles that I will make on Monday. He will be off work so we can have a nice leisurely breakfast around noon on Monday. We were on our way to pick up food for Christy when I asked the time. I could not believe that it was four in the afternoon. We definitely shot the day but it was a fun day being with Brian. He and I do not do things together that much anymore. Now he has Christy and that is fine. She did not go today for she did not feel all that great and wanted to sleep.
While we were at Wal-Mart, Brian looked for an adapter for my MP3 player that will allow me to listen to it through the radio in my car. My tape player has gone on the fritz and will not work with the tape adapter. The tape player will still play but when I put in a tape the player will click back and forth two or three times and then ends up set to play the reverse side. So I have to put a tape in as if I were going to play side two and it will play side one. Then have to take it out and put it in the opposite way to play side two. At least it will still play a tape. Did not get an adapter at Wal-Mart for they cost about three times more than they do online.
