The Start Of A New Week

Today is the beginning of a new week and I am determined that this week I will get some sewing/quilting done. I have goofed off long enough or in other words, the vacation is over. I am also going to start back to Curves tomorrow. I have got to get some weight off or my knees are going to completely fail me.

I have not bought any new clothes in quite a long time so last week I went out to try and find a pair of white pants and a pair of black pants. I wanted both in cotton and/or rayon. Linen would be fine but it just wrinkles too much for my taste. Polyester is nice and washes and dries with no need for ironing but polyester in the summer in Louisiana is just too hot. And too the stupid polyester pants like to cling to my polyester knee high hose even though both are rinsed with fabric softener.

I could not find any white pants but I found a pair of black pants at Penney’s so I bought them and then after I got home I had buyer’s remorse for I just did not like the pants for even though they were cotton they were just too stiff to suit me. Friday I returned the black pants and simply told myself that I would just do without either black or white pants. Yesterday I was in Ruston and went into a little store that I don’t think I have ever visited before and guess what? Yes, I found exactly the white pants that I wanted. They are made of a cotton fabric with woven stripes and don’t look like the fabric in khakis. Then the nice salesperson found a pair of black pants that are mainly rayon with a little polyester and best of all they were on sale for half price. So, I came home yesterday with two new pair of pants. The only thing that gripes me about the pants is that they are so long that I had to hem them up. Not a great big deal but I have never liked to do alterations. Wore my new black pants to church today and also my new trouser socks and they did NOT cling to each other. Now if I could just find a pair of red pants that I really like I would have my wardrobe for the next year. Can you tell that I am a very casual dresser? However I do have dressy outfits that I wear to church on Sundays but Wednesday nights are another story.
