A Most Enjoyable Day
Wednesday night Brian took Christy to a friend’s house down in Pineville so it was just Brian and me for three days. He did not have to work on Friday so we both got up fairly late and I made us a real breakfast of sausage, eggs, and biscuits. I spent most of the afternoon and night working on my lessons for the next Bible study meeting. I did take out time to make three trips to Wal-Mart. I know, that is a probably two more than necessary but the one in Ruston did not have two of the things I needed so had to make a trip to Jonesboro. Then I got a bee in my bonnet about something I just had to have so that was the third trip and was to Jonesboro. Late in the afternoon Brian decided that he was going out but the little scamp never would tell me where he was going. He came home late and I was still up working on my lessons and then when I finished I still stayed up reading until after two. I have not stayed up that late in a long time.
This morning when I got up I asked if he would like to go out for breakfast for I did not want to cook. We had breakfast at Burger King but since it was nearly noon I guess it was lunch. After eating we sat there and talked for probably an hour. Was the nicest “visit” that I have had with Brian in a long time. Living in the same house we seldom sit down and have a long chat. Of course we then had to make a run to Wal-Mart for I wanted to get a universal remote since I had lost the three for the TV, the DVD, and the VCR.
When we were eating we had been talking about different card games so when we got home Brian got on the computer to find out how to play Gin Rummy. After he had programmed my remote, we played Gin Rummy for probably two hours. Then he taught me an easy poker game and we played that for quite a while. When I had lost all my chips it was time for supper so we went to the little Mexican restaurant in the next little town south of us.
When we got back home he called Christy and while he was doing that I got everything ready for tomorrow. I have always liked to get my clothes out the night before. Then we played poker again until bedtime. I have really enjoyed today with my younger son. Tomorrow he is going to Pineville to get Christy and then they will go to her parents for Easter and will probably not come back home until Monday since Brian is off work on Monday.
