Children’s Christmas Program

December 21st, 2008

Tonight was the Christmas program at church that was put on by the children. The first group was kindergarten through third grade and the second group was the fourth, fifth, and sixth graders. Both groups did a great job and the church was completely filled for just about every other person was a grandparent. I [...]

At Least The Laundry Is Finished

December 20th, 2008

I went to bed so late last night, actually it was in the wee hours of the morning, that I was going to sleep until noon. The phone rang about ten and it was the jewelry story telling me that my necklace had been repaired and was ready to be picked up. I also had [...]

Changed My Mind

December 19th, 2008

The large Christmas tree was in my studio but then Christy and I decided that it would be better in the living room so that we could all enjoy it. She and Brian would only see it in my studio when they came into the kitchen. So the tree was moved and Christy has been [...]

Mother’s Birthday

December 18th, 2008

Today is my mother’s birthday and if she were still living she would be ninety-eight. I remember when I turned fifty she told me that I could not be that old for that meant that she was seventy-eight. I wish I had all the energy that my mother had when she was the age I [...]

Decision Made

December 17th, 2008

This morning when I got up not only did I still have slightly blurred vision, but my eye felt as if an eyelash was moving around but I never did see anything in the eye. I called the eye doctor to see if he could work me in today but he is not in on [...]

Not The Best Day

December 15th, 2008

I was up fairly early this morning and ready to start working on the quilt I am making for a friend to give her husband for Christmas and realized that I was having trouble with my eyes. Everything was slightly blurred so doing detailed sewing was out of the question. My eye doctor told me [...]

Christmas Cantata

December 14th, 2008

Tonight was the annual Christmas Cantata at church. Although the choir is only about forty members, the choir director can really pull the music from all those voices. The Cantata was beautiful and the choir received a standing ovation.

Visit With Aussie Friends

December 9th, 2008

Last Thursday, December 4, I drove to Monroe to meet an online friend and her husband from Australia. Another friend from the same online group also came up from south Louisiana with her husband and young son. I wanted to treat Khris and Glen to typical Louisiana food and after a little research I decided [...]

Advent Calendar Finished And Delivered

December 1st, 2008

A few months ago I decided that I was going to make an Advent calendar for Bryce my surrogate grandson and of course I waited until the 29th of November to start. I had one that was a pre-printed panel and was very cute. However, the more I worked on it the more I disliked [...]
