Scott Home Tomorrow
Scott has to work Christmas Eve so he will not be home tomorrow night until around six. But at least he will get to stay until about noon New Year’s Eve and then he will have to leave for he has to work on New Year’s Day. He works for Fielder Baptist Church and I mentioned to him that I would think a church would be an employer that would not require their employees to work on Christmas Eve. There is a special program at the church tomorrow night, and that is the reason he has to work.
I told Scott that we would start the party when he gets here. Our Christmas Eve dinner is traditionally several different finger foods, a couple of dips, and several different desserts. This year we are adding fondue. Oh my I was planning to have cheese fondue but have not bought the cheeses so guess we will just have chicken and beef. I am not going to the grocery store again. I did get chocolate to have chocolate fondue but then I forgot the fruits. Well I may be hitting the store again after all. Might break down and have Brian go but you know what it is like to send a man to the grocery store for something specific.
I am not cooking all the goodies before Christmas. Since Scott will be here a week, I am going to spread out the sweets. Will be easier on me to cook one a day than five or six on one day, will wait to make a new dessert until the first one is gone. :O) Since dinner will be mainly finger foods, I think that tomorrow I will just make a couple kinds of cookies. Pecan pie and sweet potato pie can be made later. I also want to make candied sweet potatoes for me. Many people eat them with their other veggies but the way my mother made them they were always dessert to me. Last year I finally made candied sweet potatoes that I thought were as good as the ones mother made. Think I finally discovered her secret.

I just love this little guy for he makes me think of Scott when he was that age. Scott will probably be upset with me if he sees this picture but that is just too bad for I love the picture.
