What A Week

This week has not been that great a week and I have felt rather down for the entire week. I guess it is because Tuesday was the seventeenth anniversary of the death of the love of my life and then Friday my dearest friend left for her new home which is two thousand and two hundred miles away. Thank goodness for email and cell phones with unlimited minutes. She will be back in two weeks but then when she leaves with the movers, it will be final. Everyone is praying that Mignon and Barry will be back in two or three years and he will be the plant manager at Smurfit-Stone here in Hodge and not up in Montana.

Today I just could not stay at home so in spite of the cost of gas I took off for Monroe and ended up at Hobby Lobby. I was just wandering through the fabric department and found seven fabrics that were paisley. Since the paisley is my favorite design motif I just could not resist buying a fourth yard of each. I have a large box of paisleys and one day soon I am going to make a quilt for myself that will be only paisleys. At least I did not buy a yard or more of each which is what I usually do when I find a fabric that I really like. Yesterday I was at the fabric shop in Ruston and bought three more florals to put in Mignon’s quilt. They are so much prettier than the three fabrics that they will replace.

Tomorrow is the start of a new week and I am praying that it will be a better week than this past one. Monday morning I have an appointment with the eye doctor and then Monday night I have a meeting with the group going on the mission trip in August. At least the week will be off to a good start.
