Still No Goodbyes

Oh my how great my sleep was last night lying there in the cool, dry air with a sheet and cotton blanket over me. I am a weird duck for no matter how hot it gets I cannot sleep without at least a sheet for cover. Maybe the covering is my security blanket . It felt so good in bed that I did not crawl out until almost eleven but that is not too bad considering I did not get to sleep until around four in the morning.

I had to return some books to the Ruston library so stopped at Taco Bell on the way and had a quick lunch. Since I was at the library I decided to get online and do some surfing for quilt “stuff.” I watched two videos on appliqué and learned several good tips. I am glad that I ran across them at the library for my internet connection does not play well with videos. One would think that with satellite I would have no problems but I do on nearly every video I try to watch.

I spent over two hours at the library and I think subconsciously I was doing that to put off going to Mignon’s to tell Barry goodbye. But I will not let him just fly off to Montana without telling him how much I am going to miss him and Mignon. Before I left the library parking lot I called Mignon but only got voice mail.   When I got home I tried again and still got voice mail but this time I left a message. About nine she called for she had just gotten home and heard my message. We chatted for a while and during our conversation she asked me to call Bryce and his mom every week and just ask how they were doing.  I also told her that I would be his surrogate grandma while she is in Montana and since I don’t have any grandkids of my own. She thought that was a good idea.  I think Mignon is going to miss Bryce more than even her three daughters and I can understand that. The plan now is to stop by Mignon’s tomorrow on my way to Curves and hopefully Barry will be there.
