This afternoon I decided that it was time to find the air mattress and get it set up for sleeping in my studio for the hot, humid summer. I had an idea as to where I had put it and I was one happy lady when with just a little moving and shoving I found it. However the electric pump was not in the bag with the air mattress so I was sitting on the bed thinking about doing some more hunting when I glanced across the room at all the Christmas boxes and there in plain sight was the pump. Then I was a very happy lady. So far it has been cool in my bedroom with the windows up and the ceiling fan on but it is a damp cool and I just cannot stand that. I hate waking up during the night and the sheets feel damp and my skin is sticky. So, tonight I will be sleeping in a cool room with no humidity.
Mignon and Barry were at church tonight and she and I and another friend stood at the back of the church chatting until the pastor asked if he should leave the air conditioning on for us. Fortunately there was another small group standing and talking also. I decided it was time to leave and told Mignon that I would stop by later to tell Barry goodbye. As I drove out of the parking lot I saw the two of them with another small group and knew they would be there for a while so I just headed to Jonesboro to have a burger at Sonic.
I got to Mignon’s about eight thirty and stayed until ten thirty. I still did not get to tell Barry goodbye for he fell asleep on the sofa and was out like a light. She had given him a Tylenol PM and it definitely put him to sleep. I plan to stop by tomorrow afternoon and get it over with. I really do not want to say goodbye but they are leaving so will just have to put on a happy face and do it.
When we first started chatting after church tonight I learned that Mignon will be here for three more weeks and another friend said that we would have to have a girls’ night out. That should be a lot of fun but will also be sad. I have something in mind that I would like to do for Mignon but not sure I can get it done in time. I will have to talk to Cyndi, the friend who suggested the night out, and see what she thinks.
I am starting to get a little cool so it is going to be great sleeping tonight. Better get my air mattress inflated and the bed made. What is sad is that an inexpensive air mattress is as comfortable as the expensive mattress on my bed. Actually I think maybe it is more comfortable. I bought a pillow top mattress and it is still firmer than I really like.
