What A Wednesday

I finally crawled out of bed a few minutes after noon today.  I have just about given up on getting up before noon except on Sundays.  On Saturday and Monday nights I sat down to post to this blog and could not think of a thing to say.  Last night I was all set to post and the internet went off because we were having extremely heavy rain and thunderstorms.

I had not heard from Lynn about the quilts so this afternoon I called and they arrived yesterday.   So much for two to three day Priority delivery, it took exactly a week .  They will still be sent to the Middle East for there was a problem with the shipping line so the container will not be sent to the Middle East until May 28, so everything worked out all right even with the late delivery of the quilts.

Hopefully next week I will get started working on the second group of quilts that I want to make and these will go to the Philippines.  Lynn requested larger quilts this time for older kids.  I still have a few small ones to make and those will be fine too for she said they could really use any size.  She was very happy with the quilts I sent and told me she thought they were beautiful.  That lifted my spirits for the day.

Today I finally got in touch with the person who is in charge of the mission trip to South Dakota the first week of August.  I learned there are two groups going.  They will travel together but part will go to Sioux Falls and the rest will go on to Sturgis.  I will be going with the group to Sioux Falls and we will be working mainly with children.  That will be much better than working at the biker’s rally that is held in Sturgis.  I told my pastor tonight that I planned to go and he said the church will take care of all expenses.  I am really looking forward to this for I have never been on a mission trip.
