Last week I was doing so well getting up by nine each morning and this morning I started the week off wrong by not getting up until almost eleven. I started working on a quilt after lunch and had decided that since I could not use my easy method I would try another way. I did a little quilting on the top just to hold the batting in place and then I placed the top on the backing and left about two inches on all sides to fold to the front as the binding. I had everything placed just right and started quilting the three layers together. As I completed the next to last line of stitching I saw that at that quilting line I only had about half of an inch of the backing to use. At least all the quilting is flat with no puckers. I was even using the walking foot which is supposed to prevent such things. I was so ticked off that I just put the quilt on the cutting mat and trimmed all three layers evenly at the edge. Fortunately I had some binding already cut so I just sewed that on the quilt. I had only stitched the binding on two sides when I realized that I needed to stop and go to Curves. I was going to finish the quilt as soon as I got back home from Curves.
When I finished at Curves I had to go pick up my blood pressure and cholesterol medicines at the pharmacy. I was so tired and hungry after my workout that I drove on down to Burger King for a quick early supper. I was sitting there reading a book and stuffing food in my mouth when I heard someone call my name. I looked up and Mignon was standing there with a cup of coffee in her hands. She had just come from the dentist and had stopped by for coffee. We chatted for a couple of minutes and she said she was on her way to watch her grandson at the ball field and asked if I wanted to ride along. I left my car in the Burger King parking lot and we took off for the ball field. Bryce is only three but Jackson Parish has a program for the kids that age to start learning about baseball. When the practice was over he and his mom came over to Mignon’s car and she asked him if he would like to go to Burger King since he had done so well at practice. So back to Burger King for the four of us. This time I just had a glass of water while they ate since I had eaten about an hour earlier. We sat and talked for quite a while and when I finally got home it was seven thirty. I never did get back to the quilt.
