Buyer’s Remorse And Pink Pigs
Last night I kept playing with the MP3 player and got all the extra stuff deleted and then I started listening to the book I had downloaded. Everything went fine except when I would press pause. The pause button worked fine unless the player stayed paused for very long and then the book reverted back to the beginning. Now that would not be such a problem if it were a song or a thirty minutes book. But just imagine fast forwarding through several hours when it was not really fast forward as it is on a regular tape player where fast forward is actually fast. This afternoon I boxed the little toy back up and returned it to Wal-mart. I will still download books from the library but will just listen on my computer while I am working in my studio. I will still check out tapes and CDs to play when I go to bed.
I actually got out of bed this morning at nine thirty and this has been a long day for me since I normally do not get going until around noon. At least I was not completely lazy and managed to do three loads of laundry and what is more amazing I folded and hung everything and put it away. I was at the computer and saw my state sales tax form on the desk and realized that I had better get if filed. This was the first time that I have had sales to even list but the nice thing is that they were all out of state so I did not have to pay any tax to the state. For the Jackson Parish form I just put zeros since it was all out of state. It is nice that I now have state and parish sales taxes set up so that I only have to file quarterly. When I finished with the sales tax I decided that it was time to get my income tax form in so that I could get my stimulus payment. I went to the IRS website looking for information on how to fill out the form. I had form and pen all ready but found that I could file for free online since all I had to do was show my Social Security benefits. I choose one tax preparer that was on the IRS list and after WASTING at least an hour and a half I just gave up with them for just could not get the form done correctly. They did not give me a place to put in my Social Security amount so I sent them an email and even with the reply still could not get it to work so just closed the page and went back to the IRS website and selected TurboTax and their process was very simple and everything was completely finished in just a few minutes. Now I just have to sit back and wait for my check to come in the mail. Another thing I did not like about the first site was that they wanted to do direct deposit which I prefer, but I was not going to give a third party my bank information. TurboTax only asked for my address.
Last night I was sorting through my juvenile fabrics and found enough of a flannel print for the backs of ten quilts. The fabric is cute as can be but a certain word popped into my mind as I sat looking at the fabric. I immediately sent an email with a picture of the fabric to Lynn to see if she thought the fabric would be all right on a quilt sent to a child in a Muslim country. She agreed with me that it should not be used. I think God put the word in my mind to keep us from making a terrible blunder that could negatively affect their ministry.
We both think the fabric is cute as can be but decided I should stick to camels. :O) One of these days I want to make a denim raggedy quilt for myself and think I will use the little pink pigs on the back.
