Kids!!!

Tonight about twenty minutes after eight, I was sitting at the computer chatting with a friend and eating a late dinner when my cell phone rang.  It was Brian and I thought he just wanted to talk or maybe ask me something.  Well he definitely wanted to ask me something.  He had run out of gas about three miles from home and was asking if I could bring him some gas.  Fortunately, a guy came along just as he was locking his car and drove him home.  Of course I told him that I would get a gas can, fill it with gas and come to his home and get him. I had just taken about three bites of my dinner but since it was mainly leftover pancakes I was not too upset about leaving my dinner.  When I took the first bite I remembered the pancakes were leftover from a week ago when Scott was home.  And pancakes are not my favorite meal anyway.

I was going to stop at Wal-mart in Ruston to buy a gas can and then fill with gas but as I got to the center of Quitman I decided that it would be better to stop there and make my purchases.  The store/gas station just happened to have a two gallon can so I took it outside and filled with gas and since I was also running on low I put a few gallons in my car.  I had to pay sixteen cents a gallon more than Wal-mart but the time saved was worth the extra few cents.  I called Brian to tell him that I was leaving Quitman and had gas for him.  About fthirty minutes later as I turned off the interstate near his house, he gave me a call.  I asked him when I saw him if he thought I was not coming and he said no he was just wondering how close I was.  I arrived at his house about ten minutes later and he hopped in the car and I took him back to his car. Bless his heart he even gave me money for the gas, actually much more than I spent but he said I had used my gas to come so take the money and I did.  I also got a good bear hug and a thank you.   He turned around and headed  home and I took off for Quitman.  One hour and fifty five minutes after he called I was back home.
