I spent the afternoon in the library and on the way home I decided that I would drive on to Mignon’s and see if she wanted to go to the Chinese buffet for dinner. I pulled into her driveway and saw the back of her car open and I assumed that she was packing for her trip tomorrow morning. I also saw that Barry was home too so decided to just back out and go on my merry way. I did just that, all the time not thinking about what I was doing, and all of a sudden there was a loud bump. I had backed into their mailbox and left it leaning at about a thirty-degree angle. Barry came across the lawn asking why I was backing out and not coming inside. About the same time Mignon was coming from the back of the house. To say I was embarrassed is putting it mildly. I apologized and they both told me not to worry about it. I talked with Mignon a couple minutes and told her why I had stopped and then I jumped in my car and took off. Oh the way back home after a quick trip to the grocery store, I saw that the mailbox was back straight again. I fully expect to get teasing from Barry tomorrow at church.
