Good Report From Doctor
Had my six-month checkup and blood work done this morning and the lab had the results for the doctor by the time I got into see him. Cholesterol and blood pressure were fine and no damage to liver or kidneys from the medicines I take to reduce both problems. Do not have to go back for another six months. I asked about something stronger than acetaminophen and ibuprofen for my arthritic knees. He said there were drugs that should help but the side effects could be worse than the arthritis. So I will just limp along and take the over the counter drugs. When I was going to Curves three times a week, every week, I could tell a difference in my knees. I have gotten back to going regularly so hopefully continuing to exercise and losing weight will help greatly. I really do not like taking medicines and only take the acetaminophen and ibuprofen mainly at bedtime so that the pain does not keep me awake.
This afternoon I was sitting at the computer in my studio and heard someone knocking at the front door. Answered the door and it was my next-door neighbor. He said he saw my mailbox had fallen down and wanted to know if I would like for him to put it back up for me. I told him that I had decided to go with a post office box but I really appreciated his offer. Then he asked if I would like for him to haul it away to the dump. I told him that would be great and I was ever so thankful. So, that problem is solved. I was wondering how I was going to get the thing into the trunk of my little Toyota Corolla and to the dump. Of course I could have let it hang out with the trunk lid bouncing. It is so great to have such nice neighbors.
Wednesday night at church, Mignon asked if I would like to go to Pizza Inn Thursday night to help the junior class at Quitman High School raise money for the prom. Of course my answer was yes. I went to her home at five this afternoon and we could not decide if we really wanted pizza or not. So we picked up her grandson and then headed to Ruston. I needed to go to Office Depot so we went there and then on to Pizza Inn. The parking lot was almost completely filled and the restaurant was very busy. The pizza seemed to be better than usual and we both said that we were so glad that we decided to go. The kids were doing everything but cooking the pizza and they got ten percent of sales and got to keep all the tips. There are some TIRED kids tonight in Quitman.
