My website had a problem with calculating postage. When the customer first clicked on checkout it would give the correct postage and then at the final checkup only Priority postage was available. Told Scott about the problem and he finally got it corrected this evening. I am one happy bookseller. Not only is the website now working correctly but I have sold quite a number of books since Sunday night. I just hope that the traffic continues. What I need to do now is get the rest of the books listed, then the magazines and patterns, and finally the fabric and embroidery stash.
Last night I received an order from a lady in Canada and from another in Australia. I have the package ready to mail to Canada but have not heard from Australia since I sent the email with the postage cost. International postage is outrageously expensive.
Today after I did my exercises at Curves, I went to the Parish tax office and learned that they follow the same rules as the state. So as long as I have only out of state sales I will not have to pay any taxes. However I will still have to file every quarter and list my out of state sales but that is no problem since I do the filing online. If I sell any books or other items in Louisiana I will charge tax and postage.
I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning at 9:15 and since they will be doing blood work, I cannot eat or drink anything after midnight tonight. Just had a snack and think I will head to bed a little early tonight. Friday I have an appointment with the eye doctor.
