Surprise

This morning I came out the front door to get in my car to go to church and as I glanced across the road at the house over there it struck me that something was different. I looked again and realized that my mailbox had been knocked down. Either a couple of kids drove by and thought it would be fun to knock it over or someone too inebriated to drive ran it over with their car. I have about decided that I will just go to the post office and rent a box there. I don’t have the tools or energy to put the pole and box back up. I pass the post office four days of the week so would not have to make a special trip but two days. It is a little less than a mile so would not be a big deal and if I did not check on those two days it would not matter for most of the mail I get is junk. The only thing that is holding me back is that I do not want to have to do all those address changes. Would be nice if the post office would let me keep my street address and they could just remember what number box was for my mail. As if there is a chance of that happening. Very small post office but am sure that will not make any difference. Going to check on it tomorrow and then make my decision.

I have jonquils up all over my yard but none of them are blooming yet. On the way to church I saw them blooming in several yards. One thing about Louisiana that I do like is that the flowers start blooming very early. Actually there is something blooming nearly all year long. I think that January is about the only month with no blooming flowers, bushes, or trees.
