Problem Solved
After writing my long tale of woe about making quilts and my hurting shoulder, I realized that part of the problem is that my chair is too low or the sewing machine is too high. I have an adjustable chair but unfortunately it only goes in low anymore but once in a great while it will catch in the high position. Fortunately I have a table that is adjustable so I can put it in the lowest position and it should work better for me. I do prefer sewing with the machine in the cabinet for then I have a large flat area for sewing. But I can sew with it on the table so going to give that a try. After thinking about the problem, it is the reaching up that is bothering my shoulder. So, if I can sit higher than the machine then maybe I will have the problem solved. There is a drawback to this solution for I like to have the table at the highest position when I am cutting fabric for it does not bother my back like a regular height table. May just have to buy a second table but first I will see how it works with the sewing machine down low. I have tired the machine on the low table and think that will solve my problem for I will not have to reach up when quilting. But I am still going to ask Wes and Misty if they would prefer a quilt or a wall hanging. Who knows, they might just prefer something for the wall. His mom and dad bought them a comforter so doubt if they really need a quilt.
No sewing or embroidery done so far this week for all I have been doing is reading. Well I am going to Curves three times a week. Last weekend I went to three libraries to get all nine books in the McKettrick series written by Linda Lael Miller. They are set in Arizona and start in 1884 and come to the present. I have always loved westerns and this author is one I really like. Today at the library in Ruston I checked out ten books on CD and all are by Janette Oke. Wish I could make money reading books or listening to them on tape or CD. I would have all my debts paid off in no time at all.
Earlier tonight I was chatting with an online friend who lives in the town where I grew up and she mentioned a book that she wanted to buy and I just happened to have it. So made a sale right then and there. I need to get emails written to the owners of the groups I am in asking permission to mention my web site in the group. Maybe I can get that done tomorrow. I just have to stay away from the books.
