The Last Of The Christmas Lights

Was trying to get the postage software set up on my website today and was talking with Scott via instant messenger. I know he would have liked to wring my neck for I just could not get the information through my thick skull. As I told him, I felt like crawling in bed, pulling the covers over my head, and having a good cry. Also told him that being a man he would not understand. :O) I finally did what I was supposed to do with the USPS and now waiting for them to send me an email with my Web Tools User ID. Did not pay close enough attention when I was filling out the form for the post office and gave them my gmail address instead of the buzzard’s roost one. Oh well, maybe I can change later. PayPal is set up with gmail so might be better to have gmail with the post office.

Finally, the last of the Christmas lights.

As one first enters Jonesboro there are one hundred ornamental pear trees that in earlier years were decorated as shown in the picture above..

I do not know the reason but for the past three years only the trunks of the trees are lighted. Still lovely but they would be magnificent if the powers that be would decorate the trunks and the branches.

This sign is placed along highway 167 as one comes over the bridge into one part of the business area of Jonesboro.

Behind and above Welcome to Jonesboro is one of the prettiest Nativity scenes that I have seen. One cannot tell from the photo, but each figure is outlined in tiny lights. So happy that here in my neck of the woods, the Nativity is still displayed in public.

The sides of some buildings have little scenes displayed. The wheels on this train turn. The next two photos show decorations on the sides of buildings.  The red dot in the middle of the map is Jonesboro.

The rest of the pictures are mainly lighted trees with some buildings in the background. As I have said, I LOVE lighted trees so there are lots of pictures. Lighted buildings are also beautiful but there is just something about a tree covered with tiny lights that simply touches my soul.

This sign was on the side of a metal building at a gas station. Nothing fancy but it did my heart good to see Merry Christmas instead of happy holidays or seasons greeting.
