New Year’s Day 2008

I just noticed that the date on this post is January 2 when it should be January 1. I think that when the two blogs were combined the method of dating changed. Before, as long as I posted before two Central Time/midnight Pacific Time it would be the correct day. Seems now I will have to post by midnight my time.

New Year’s Day here at Buzzard’s Roost has been very quiet and uneventful. I woke up at twelve and realized that the electricity was off. I called Entergy to tell them about the outage and was told it should be repaired by three this afternoon. Since I did not know how long the electricity had been off I did not want to be opening my refrigerator to get out food for lunch so decided to just go to Jonesboro and eat at Burger King. Also without electricity, I could not heat my studio and it was cold in there. I was about ready to leave when the lights came back on, but I had already decided to go out for lunch so I went ahead and drove to Burger King. Was nice and warm sitting in the booth with the sun shining through the window so I sat there for about an hour reading.

Tonight I called Scott to ask him something about my blog and of course he thought I was nagging again so he was unhappy with me but after I apologized for nagging and he apologized for snapping at me we hung up and I went back to trying to get through all the emails that piled up while I was sewing last week. Shortly thereafter, Scott called again and he had finally fixed the problem with the blog and bless his sweet little heart, he apologized again. He is such a great son. In fact, I have two great sons. The problem with the blog was that there were some posts that were not showing up. Now they are all on the blog and all other problems are fixed too.

When I got up this morning I found out that the instep on my left foot was so sore that I could hardly walk. And after sitting for a few minutes my back hurt so that I was not sure I would be able to stand. But with walking around today, the foot is not so sore and my back is now only sore to the touch. What kind of shape would I be in if I had actually fallen and not just stumbled around like a drunk?
