Tonight I did something I have never done before; I attended a wedding on New Year’s Eve. The wedding was small, simple, and beautiful. When I came out of the church to come home I was looking at the newlywed’s car that had been decorated and missed the one step down. I stumbled and almost fell flat on my face. Thank the good Lord I did not fall for the way I was headed I would probably have landed on my left shoulder and dislocated it. I just kept stumbling until I finally gained my footing. If anyone saw me they probably thought I had been celebrating early. On the way home I decided to stop at Taco Bell and have my last meal there for the year. The cake at the reception had made me hungry.
When I arrived home I had a couple of hours to wait until it was midnight in New York and time for the ball to drop in Time Square. I have seen that now and even though it is still 2007 here in Louisiana I am going to bed. I am not making any New Year’s resolutions for I never keep them. I am just going to try to not be so lazy in this new year and get things done other than reading half the books in the library. I really want to finish all the quilts that Mom G left unfinished and get each one to the person for whom she was making the quilt. Doing that will keep me busy and out of trouble.
