My plans definitely were changed today. I was sewing along on the gift for Christy and the thread on the spool frayed, split, and broke. I always pull the thread down toward the needle to get it out but it had broken in the enclosed area and there was no thread to grab to pull down. So I had to pull it out from the top and of course the ball of fuzz stayed in the machine. I used canned air and then Scott gave it a good working over with canned air. I even ran a length of embroidery thread through the machine and did get out one ball of fuzz but the machine still will not sew correctly. For each stitch on top there are probably a dozen loops of thread below. Oh for the days when a sewing machine was NOT computerized for I could usually repair any problem, at least any problem with thread. And the worst part is that it will cost seventy-five dollars to get the machine serviced. It was ready for a service job but would have preferred to finish the gift for Christy and the wedding quilt for New Year’s Eve. Oh well, I will now just sit and read and enjoy visiting with Scott while he is home.
I have all the food that I am to take to Brian’s tomorrow all finished and as soon as I wrap one present I am going to bed. Have to be up early to call the post office to see if the package from Amazon has arrived. If it is not there then I am going to be very disappointed and will let Amazon know what I think for they said the package would be here by December 24. Just checked tracking and all it says is that it left Springfield, Massachusetts, on December 19. I was told at the post office that if a package is over twelve ounces then it goes priority. So why is my package taking so long? Oh well, it will be here when it gets here.
Just remembered that I wanted to make some chocolate covered Brazil nuts and some peanut clusters. Think I will go do that right now for will not take very long. After all we might not have enough food. Yeah right, I will not have to cook anything on Christmas Day for we will have lots of leftovers. I plan it that way for I am very lazy on Christmas Day.
