Linda’s Christmas Gifts

Today I received the photos of the Christmas gifts that I made for Linda. The gifts were for last year and this year since last year I had a dislocated shoulder and was not up to sewing. Sad to say the shoulder still hurts but at least I can sew.

The table runner, green pillow shams, and two pillows were for Christmas 2006. The place mats, two pillows, and tablecloth were for Christmas 2007.

The table runner and place mats are reversible.

This side of the runner and mats is the same color as the pillows below.

When Linda opened the package she did not realize that I had made a tablecloth for her small round kitchen table and just put it on the back of the sofa as a throw. Nice thing is that she can use it for either.

Stripes vertical or horizontal?

Now the square is a tablecloth.

Linda collects teddy bears and I had Christmas fabric with teddy bears so I decided to use it for the reverse side of the tablecloth for a whimsical look for the kitchen table.

These pillow shams match the quilt that our mother-in-law started for Linda many years ago and I finished in 2003. The quilt is in Iowa so can’t see how they look together. Below is a picture of the quilt, use your imagination. :O)

Linda’s Quilt on Bed

This has been one COLD Sunday. It is not cold as compared to the states that are covered in snow right now but for us here in the subtropics it is cold. As much as I dislike the heat and humidity, I prefer it to cold weather. We humans are never happy with the weather. I have always thought it would be so nice to live where the temperature is about seventy degrees to eighty degrees all year long with low humidity.

There is a great deal of sewing and quilting to be done tomorrow, or at least started. Two quilts to finish by Christmas Eve and one to finish by New Year’s Eve.
