More Natchitoches Christmas Lights

The best laid plans…we all know how that goes. Had planned to spend the day sewing on a quilt for the grandson of another friend but did not sew one stitch today. I did get up at a reasonable hour, at least reasonable for me, and went to Curves for my workout. I am still waiting for exercise to be FUN. Frankly I think I will be waiting forever. When I got home from Curves I had to go to the library in Ruston to pick up the latest book by Diane Mott Davidson recorded on CDs that had been on hold for me. Before I went to the library I stopped by Taco Bell and had a late lunch. When I did get to the library, I settled into a comfortable chair and finished a book I had been reading and had only about fifty pages to read. It was the latest Sue Grafton so had to get it back to the library so the next person on the waiting list could have it. Now I can get back to reading Christmas stories.

It was late evening when I got back home so I decided it was time to get gifts ordered from Amazon.com since I finally had all the information I needed from Scott and Brian. Now all my Christmas shopping is done. Certainly beats fighting the crowds at the mall. In addition to the kiddie quilt I want to make, I have a quilt to make for a Christmas present so I must get to sewing tomorrow morning as soon as I get up. Only ten days until Christmas so I think it is finally time to start on the Christmas quilt. I seem to get things done better if I have a fast approaching deadline. Been that way all my life so I guess there is not much chance of me changing at this late date in my life.

Today at Curves we were discussing TV shows and I realized that my TV has not been on for nearly a month. Well the TV is on but only to view movies in the VCR or the DVD player. Today was a slow day with only three movies playing, One Special Night, One Christmas, and Santa Claus The Movie.

Tonight I cropped and resized the rest of the Natchitoches Christmas pictures. I only took photographs of a small portion of the lights and not happy with the results but better than nothing I guess.

The main bridge in the center of town has all the pillars covered with twinkling lights and the effect is almost hypnotic. A photograph cannot do justice to the scene.
