Christmas Lights in Natchitoches
Went to bed this morning at five and then slept until one thirty. Had to be at church at four thirty for my Sunday school class trip to a restaurant near Natchitoches. After dinner we went on to Natchitoches to view the Christmas lights.
Before leaving for church I had to get the fourth day Christmas gift ready to leave hanging on Mignon’s door. I am really having fun doing the Twelve Days of Christmas gag gifts. I was ready to leave and my phone rang and it was Joyce calling to tell me that she had gotten the Christmas box and that she really liked all the things I had made. We were talking away and I decided that I better look at the clock. It was fifteen after four and I still had to go by Mignon’s before I got to church. Said a quick goodbye and took off at a run. The guy that drives the bus leaves ON TIME and if you are not there you get left. I made it with about two minutes to spare.
We all had a great time at the restaurant and I brought home enough catfish in my doggie bag for two more meals. I think two of the guys ate everything but the rest of us had leftovers.
I had taken my camera but was not having any success taking pictures through the window as the bus moved down the street. After we had driven around for quite a while some of the people wanted to stop down by the river for hot chocolate. Then I had a chance to get off the bus and make some pictures. I forgot to take my tripod so the pictures are not all that good but at least one can get an idea of what is there. I still think the lights in the town just south of Quitman are prettier.
This is Scott’s alma mater.
This tree is huge and it changed colors from red to blue to green and I could not catch any one color but at least I got a shot when it was all colors.
For any who do not know, the movie Steel Magnolias was filmed in Natchitoches.
I have several more pictures but I am just too tired and sleepy to crop and resize so will post them tomorrow night. One would think that since I slept until nearly two this afternoon that I would not be sleepy but I am. Want to get up early tomorrow and hopefully get another quilt made for another friend’s grandson.
