Quilt Delivered

After church tonight I stopped by Mignon’s to present the quilt to her grandson Bryce. He immediately started crawling under it and saying that he was hiding. It took his mom, grandma, and me to finally get a picture of him on the quilt. He was having a great time with the quilt but driving us bonkers. :O) The backside has cartoon type lions, tigers, giraffes, and elephants but he was not interested in the other side for he was too busy driving his little car all over the quilt city. It was very obvious that he really liked the quilt and that made my heart feel all warm and fuzzy and made the time I spent making the quilt worth every minute and every stitch.

This is a whole cloth quilt and I quilt each side separately, sew the two together, pull right side out (birthing the quilt), and finish with a decorative stitch on the edge.  I am not making a work of art but a quilt that I hope will be loved until it is in tatters.

I went to Wal-Mart today to pick up goodies for the kids stockings and on the way home I was thinking about my Christmas tree and I make a decision. I am NOT going to drag out all the ornaments and put them on the tree. It is less than two weeks until Christmas and only Scott will be home and I don’t think he cares one way or the other. I have a prelit tree that was never put away last year so I have been enjoying the lights since Thanksgiving. And my Santa collection is still on display in the dining room. There are at least twenty huge red plastic boxes of Christmas ‘stuff’ and they are stacked three and four high. As I told Mignon tonight, I am sure the ornaments would be in the bottom boxes. So, they are going to stay right where they are. When I got home I did get out two thirty-two inch fiber optic trees but they were in the original boxes and right on top of the stacks.

Tonight I watched A Charlie Brown Christmas and when it was over I realized that I have been watching that little movie every year since 1965 which means that I have seen it forty-two times. I liked it just as much this year as the first time I saw it.
