Monday Night at the Movies

Every Monday night the library in Ruston shows a movie and about a month ago I started attending. Why pay money to go see movies when I can see them for free? I very seldom go to a theater but wait until the movie comes out on DVD. Last night I saw Escape Clause Santa Clause III.

When I got home last night I started watching my own Christmas movies and watched A Holiday to Remember, The Santa Trap, and Prancer. Now I do not sit and watch the movies, they are playing in the background while I am doing other things. I have found that when I do go to the theater I get very antsy just sitting there watching. So I guess you would say that I listen to the movies.

I had Bible study this morning and then I treated myself to lunch at Sonic. Treat nothing, I am just too lazy to prepare something at home. Then a quick trip to Wal-Mart and the library and it was home to work on Christmas presents. While I was playing with fabric I was watching/listening to The Year Without A Santa Claus, A Garfield Christmas and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. I worked until a few minutes after five and then I called Brian to ask him a question about Christmas presents. Learned that Christy was at her parents and so I asked if he would like to meet me for dinner in Ruston. He is not one to pass up a free meal so we decided to meet at Cane’s and I had a nice meal with my second born.

Now this has been an interesting evening. I was sitting here at the computer about 8:15 pm and the computer and all the lights blinked off, came back on for less than a second and then went off for good. Fortunately my little flashlight was right here on my computer desk so I picked it up and went to the windows in the rest of the house to see if the neighbors were also in the dark and they were. I called Entergy and was told that the electricity should be back on by 9:40 pm.

Rounded up some candles and put them on the kitchen table and then I sat there and read for a little while. It is amazing how much light several candles will create. About 9:15 pm the electricity was back on. When I clicked the button to start my computer it started up with a funny noise and then died. Tried again to start it and this time it came on but nothing would work. I could not even get to the restart button so had to turn the computer off at the CPU. Finally it came on again but still nothing would work so I called my computer guru son Brian. He would ask me if a certain program would work and I would click on the icon he mentioned and not one program would open. While I was still taking to him everything that I had clicked started opening. He told me to close everything out and restart the computer. There were probably fifteen pages that had to be closed. Did that, restarted the computer, and now everything seems to be working fine. I love computers but they can be so frustrating when they will not work.

Now that the electricity is back on I am watching Bugs Bunny’s Looney Christmas Tales. I love cartoons.
