Last night my Sunday school class went out to dinner as a group. We went to a restaurant near Natchitoches and as many times as I traveled that road to Natchitoches when Scott was at the NSU and Brian was at LSMSA, we never went to the Sea and Sirloin Restaurant. They had a very extensive menu but since I am not that fond of steak I went for the catfish strips. I have gotten plates laden with food at restaurants before but I have NEVER had so much food on my plate before. I brought home the large “doggie box” FILLED with catfish and have enough for at least three more meals. Two trips to the salad bar, plus the catfish, baked potato, hush puppies, and two servings of a dessert salad filled me to point of being one stuffed woman. :O) I can’t remember the last time I ate that much food. Needless to say I did not have a midnight snack last night. Actually I went to bed about an hour after getting home. All that food made me sleepy.
Did my exercises at Curves this morning and then was naughty and went to sonic for a breakfast burrito. Had a coupon for a free drink because of a mix up the last time I was there so I had a cheap lunch. Then of course I had to make a trip to Wal-Mart for the little red light was blinking constantly to tell me I was almost out of gas. Oh my, I lead such an exciting life. :O)
When I arrived home and checked the mailbox there was a package from an online friend. She had recorded several Cajun children’s stories. She is not Cajun but she grew up in Cajun country and knows the language so she read the stories with a Cajun accent. Now I am frantically trying to find my little micro tape player. Saw it just a few weeks back but by now it has probably hidden in another place.
I am thoroughly convinced that inanimate objects in my home have become alive. I have lost a fabric panel that I was to embellish for a wall hanging. It is about fourteen inches by twenty-four inches so it should be easy to spot. I remember serging the edges, washing, drying, and taking out of the dryer. So it stands to reason that it should be in the pile of fabrics that I just washed but I have gone through the stack three times and the fabric is not there. A friend at the stitching group I attend suggested that I look in the linen closet in case I folded it and put with the towels and such. I searched the linen closet, the drawer in the kitchen with tea towels, the drawer with cloth napkins, took all the linens off the bed in case it was stuck to a sheet or blanket, and I even looked under the bed and every item in my studio. I even looked beside the washer since small items do tend to fall there sometimes. This afternoon I even searched through the basket of paper to be recycled since it sits near my computer desk and if I had the fabric at the computer then it could have possibility fallen into the basket. That fabric is NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. I am really ticked because it is to be a Christmas present. In fact it was to be a present last year but my dislocated shoulder prevented me from making it. Unless it is found soon it will end up being a present for Christmas, 2008.
I normally do not watch TV on Friday night for there is nothing on that I want to see. However, today when I was at the library I saw an ad for a new show that was debuting tonight:
“Based on author James Patterson’s bestselling novels, “Women’s Murder Club” is a new one-hour drama series about four successful working women in San Francisco: a Homicide Inspector, a Medical Examiner, an Assistant D.A. and a crime reporter, who use their expertise, their close friendship and their instincts to solve murder cases. Each a success in her own field, they work together to uncover clues to the city’s most grisly homicides.”
Since I have read all the books in that series, I wanted to see the show. The show will not have the stories from the books but will have the characters. I thought it was a good show so I will probably be watching every Friday night.
When there is a show that I want to see I turn the TV early so I will not miss the show. Well the show that was on first was 20/20. Quite a disturbing show, at least to me. It was about children doing things that are normally done by adults such as piloting a plane, bull fighting, or stock car racing. The one that really upset me was the children that are taught to be boxers in Thailand. That one had me in tears.
Since there are elections in Louisiana tomorrow and I want to be sure and vote, I need to get to bed so that I can get up early and go do my civic duty. Of course the polls are open until seven at night but I want to get it done early and then get to work on clearing out “stuff” and getting books listed on my web site.
