Not Much Happened Today
I cannot believe that I was actually out of bed a few minutes before eight thirty this morning. Had Bible study at church at nine thirty so after getting ready I had a few minutes to get on the computer. First thing in the morning, other people head to the kitchen for a cup of coffee, me I head to the computer to see what all my friends all over the world are doing.
After the Bible study the entire group went to the home of one of the ladies for a delicious lunch. It was so nice to see a completely decorated home since I am not decorating this year because of my injured shoulder.
Last night when I was clearing out some papers I ran across the Humana booklet for 2007 and in just flipping through it I found out that if I get a prescription for Ibuprofen then Humana will pay most of the cost. This afternoon I went to Green Clinic to get a prescription from the orthopedic doctor but he was out of the office until Thursday. Then I went to see the doctor who takes care of my high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and arthritis and he had left for the day. The only doctor left that sees me regularly was my eye doctor. He had just finished for the day and I caught him just in time. He said he would be happy to write me a prescription. Took the prescription to Wal-mart and for seventy cents I got one hundred and twenty, 400mg Ibuprofen tablets. Wal-mart’s generic brand is much more expensive than that. Guess I should read my Medicare and Humana booklets when they come in the mail. :O)
A few minutes ago I tried the exercise with the rod and was actually able to do three sets of ten each. And what surprised me was that it was easier to do lifting my arms all the way up rather than having my arms bent and then lifting. However, by the time I did number thirty I was more than ready to stop. Very happy that I could do it for yesterday I could barely get the arm up doing that exercise. And my arm is not nearly as sore tonight so the exercises seem to be really working. Yesterday I asked the physical therapist how long I would have to do physical therapy and he said until I could raise my arm over my head. I am hoping that this week and next will be enough. I see the orthopedic doctor again on December 12. Certainly hope that he will dismiss me at that time.
