When I got my block out of the mailbox I was in my car on the way to the library. Of course I had to open it right then and the first words out of my mouth were, "Oh, it is BEAUTIFUL." All five of the ladies in the group with me did a great job and I absolutely love my block. Because of my dislocated shoulder I cannot make it into a wall hanging yet, so it is just hanging on my design wall in all its unfinished glory.
When I added the black patch with the gold design I had thought that when the block came back to me that I would do some highlighting on that patch but have about decided to leave it as is. Putting gold thread over the gold already there would more or less be a wasted effort. I did think about filling in the black on the flowers with red threads and the leaves with green threads. Anyone have any suggestions or should I just leave it as is?
When my shoulder is completely healed I will be ready to take part in another CQ RR for this one was fun.

It is beautiful the way it is, but if you want to do something I would have used the red and light green that already is represented in the block.
DD, what a pretty, pretty piece. Hurry and get better so you can get it finished!
DD your blck is just beautiful. The turquoise patch makes it sing. I wish I could see the design on it better. I agree, I think the black block is just perfect the way it is and anything more would be overkill. If these ladies are newbies they sure do nice work. Hope your arm is better soon so you can do another RR.
I was just looking thru the March issue of The Quilter Magazine and they have an article on antique CQ’s. From the small blow-ups it did not look like they did anything more to their printed patches. If I were going to do anything to the block I would put some ribbon leaves with the flower in the royal blue patch and maybe a little something where the ribbon doesn’t quite meet the corner in that same patch. The rest is perfect as it is.
Joyce I tried twice to send an answer to your comment via email and both times I got a message back that you did not have a yahoo.com account. Go figure. Could you send me your address?

I am very new to CQ so I can’t give any suggestions on if you need to add more or not. I think it is a very lovely block.
You have made a very pretty block. The tatted heart is quite lovely! Did you make it?
