I was finally able to finish the last block of the CQ RR in which I was involved. I had two leaves to add to the small white flower and the leaves on my signature heart flower and was planning to finish the morning of November first. Wow, that plan certainly got changed with a bang. About three in the morning on November first I was going from my studio into the kitchen to put a dish and spoon into the dishwasher when I tripped on the one step up into the kitchen and fell flat on my face with my right arm twisted under me and my left arm partially under me. The results were that I dislocated my right shoulder and sprained the little finger on my left hand. Since my younger son Brian would have taken about an hour to get to me, I called my pastor and his wife to take me to the emergency room for they were only about ten minutes away. Thank the Lord they put me to sleep to put the shoulder back in place. When I called Brian later to tell him what had happened he asked if it hurt as much as childbirth. I told him that in my case that it hurt a lot more for I was asleep when I had both my C-Sections. :O)
After Thanksgiving I was able to finish the block and get it mailed to Janet and according to the tracking information for the package, she received it today. I was happier with my work on this block than on any of the others.
dd, sorry to hear about the shoulder — but your block looks great! I say go for some beading on the black and gold fabric — when you’re up to it. (Lesa, CQForNewbies)
Sure hope you get to feeling better soon. Your block looks fantastic. Very beautiful!
